About Tennis US Open

Only men competed in the first few years as the tournament was held on grass at the Newport Casino in Newport known as US National Championship. American Chris Evert, Serena Williams and Norwegian Molla Bjurstedt Mallory are the most successful ladies at the US Open winning six and eight titles respectively.
